I noticed while checking out Barkies that the solid pins usually cost more. I was wondering do they offer that much more strength?

Thanks

Might just be a "process thing" - easier to do hollow pins or more people want them, etc.

Mike Stewart pays close attention to his forum and is very good about answering questions like that. He'll answer the same question a hundred times as new posters come on board and ask without having searched for it so don't hesitate to go straight to the source. You may even get answers from others who already asked or heard it asked several times themsleves.

I got a kick out an answer one of Mike's crew gave as to why he personally preferred hollow pins - "better airflow."

Hmmm, never knew that .001 grams made that much difference.
Please expound on your theories to us.

And you guys miss the sarcasm.....

Of course we did. It is hard to see sometimes, especially from a new poster, without a little help. Such as :) , ,:p ,;) , or :D.
If you hang around Blade Forums long enough you will see many posts like that where the poster is serious.:)

Yes.Welcome to BladeForums.
As SOLEIL mentioned,smileys help. :p

Hm, interesting answers. I don't know what to make. There are serious price discrepancies between these choices.

Maybe it is just aesthetic.

If I'm not mistaken the hollow pins should be stronger, although for this application it might not make a difference. The higher price may be due more to the mass of the material or shipping weight more than actual quality.
