I was wondering if there is a black hard anodized pocket clip available for either the Camillus Cuda Maxx 5.5 or Camillus Heat?

If not, does anyone know someone who can make one? Thanks.

Unfortunately Camillus Cutlery only has the pocket clips for those knives available in stainless only. Not sure who could make one.

Darrel Ralph owns this company which has all kinds of hardware including pocket clips for the knives he makes, and the knives he designs for Camillus being the ones you mentioned. They come in polished chrome or black on the clips and will fit the knives you mentioned as I have replaced the clips on mine with them from Darrel's webiste(knifekits.com).Hope this helps.

Thanks alot!!

I actually emailed "'info@darrelralph.com'" back on the 3rd, but haven't received a response yet. I found the pocketclip for my Cuda Maxx, but it's still the polished hardchrome one. I don't see a black one anywhere, could you please show me where it is? Or at least one for a Heat?

The one my Cuda Maxx uses is here: http://knifekits.com/store/s-pages/kk_store_1mainframe.htm?kk_products_parts_main.htm~smain

...and it's called "Designer Pivot Adjustment Clip" It's the first clip listed in the clip section in the upper left, it has the round design with the hole in the middle.

Also, when I remove the screws, does anybody know what type of locktite I should use when I put them back in? I understand there's different colors of locktite for different uses.

If I can't find a black clip, I might just have to send it off to get it NP3'd or something.

Ok, I did a search and found a previous post of yours on the subject.

You mentioned part number: KKFOCLPB

You mentioned it will fit a Cuda Maxx and Heat (or Dominator).

It looks like it will make the knife ride lower as well. That's good to!

Ok, I'm going to order that, thank you very much!

Which screws do you recommend? I don't see any black button head short ones like the ones in my Cuda Maxx.

It says the clip is set up for 2-56 screws. Okay.. looking again I do see some 6-32 button head torx screws that look like mine, will they work?

Unless you retap the threads, and even then they would be too big for the holes in the clip. You could just paint your screws with black hobby paint but even then my experience after carry the coating seems to always wear off even if they come from the maker black because the head of the screw sits higher than the clip, and wears off from the material from your pocket especially if you wear jeans. I have just left mine chrome, and live with it, and actually looks cool, and highlights the black clip that much more.
Glad I could be some help.

Rather than mess with my carry knife, I think I'm going to pick up a Heat like I used to have and attach this clip. Because I do like the way the Maxx sits in the pocket for quick retrieval with the standard clip. Thank you very much!

I went ahead and ordered that black pocketclip for my Camillus Heat and the holes for the black pocketclip are way too far apart for either the Heat or a Cuda Maxx. They must have changed the dimensions of it. I'm glad I didn't go ahead and order several, like I had planned.

if you're adventurous with that clip there are a few options to blacken it, even though it's stainless. You know that ferric chloride etchant they sell at radioshack? That WILL etch stainless steel, and in higher concentrations etch it quickly. If you use a diluted solution and short time periods in the etchant, it'll give it a satin black finish. Leave it in a long time and it'll look like parkerizing. Be sure if you do this to completely degrease before etching, as any contamination can really mess up the results.

If you don't want to take that risk there are numerous top quality spray and bake gun finishes out now that you could use, best of all if they ever get scratched/scraped refinishing is easy and cheap.

Hmm... maybe I'll look into that. I really do like the low riding design of this one. Makes me angry that I order the knife and the clip and it doesn't fit though.

That's ok, I wish I hadn't sold my last Heat anyways. It's a nice knife.

You may actualy be able to get a factory black pocket clip. The Black Aftermath uses the same clip, but it has a flat black finish. Knowing what to ask for, you might be able to get one from Camillus. If not, perhaps an anodizing shop could do your existing clip. Good luck finding something that works for you.

Give STR a shout. If you do a search under his name you will see all sorts of pocket clips in all colors and he can also change the color of the handle if you want.

I never did get to carry my Cuda Maxx 5.5 Stiletto and it's basically been sitting in the box. I listed it on ebay if anyone is interested. My car needs a new tranny so I'm selling some things. My truck's gas mileage is killing me.
