Is there a favourite kukri among Gurkha soldiers?

I was wondering if the Gurkha soldiers themselves have a favourite kukri.

I know there is a standard army issued kukri for all Gurkha soldiers but I was thinking perhaps unofficially there is a consensus among these famous fighting men that one particular kukri model is given the two thumbs up by the majority.

Anybody has any idea?

I don't know but I'd guess each man must have his own personal favorite just as we do here.

Not that it matters too much, but dosn't Pala personally like the Gelbu Special to the point that if it was his decision he would make it the standard issue khukuri for the Gurkha Regiments?

He did have a great fondness for that knife and thought it world work well in the field as either tool or weapon. But that's his own personal preference and as we've seen in this forum everybody has their own ideas and preferences.
