Is there a fix for the BK14 sheath?

I tried searching but couldn't find anything except people saying they had the same problem as I do - bk14 standard sheath dulls blade very quickly (one or two draws). Only happens on the straight part of the edge. Belly to tip is still hair popping sharp. Still happens if I push towards the spine while drawing and sheathing so I dont think Im excessively cutting up the plastic or anything.

Does this go away with use (i.e. sheath gets broken in), or is there a simple fix that would stop it from happening? I really like the knife itself but its pretty useless like it is now. When I say the main edge of blade gets dull, Im not just being picky either. It wont bite fingernail or cut printer paper even if I havent cut a thing yet.

Thanks for any suggestions you can offer other than "buy a custom sheath". Im in Canada and dont want to sign up for paypal, so its difficult finding a kydex provider that will ship to me and/or take international money orders.

First, welcome to Bladeforums. Second, this topic has been addressed a lot, so I'm going to recommend the following threads:

I simply make sure I keep the spine against the sheath as I'm sliding it in. However, this would be harder with belt carry.

Welcome to this crazy place! ;)

I had the same issue when I first got my 14 and it did get better over time.

I will however let you know that Azwelke (a vendor here) does incredible work and ships internationally! Send him an email, he's good people!
