...a tactical-type knife, that has an integral lock or frame lock, if that's the correct term. No G10 or other scale material, just an all metal knife. (Similar to the Sebenza style.)

I was looking at knives on the internet, and mentioned I'd like to have a cheap one of that style just to handle & mod & mess with for a bit, and my wife says, "You got a shop now. Why not build one?" Duuuuh... why didn't I think of that? This assumes of course that there is a kit out there for this type of knife, but I can't find one.

I've got a bunch of liner-locks, but I'd like to tinker with something a little different.

knifekits.com sells a number of frame lock kits. Most have scales but I think maybe some do not. THey are designed by Darrell Ralph and are not terribly expensive. You might find something you like.

Much appreciated, guys; I looked briefly at knifekits, but now that I've a little more into it, I'm getting some ideas. Maybe stick with a liner lock, and get some nice damascus for slab scales, or something.

I've got to look up the different lock types. I'm realizing that what I thought I knew, ain't quite right.

If you end up putting scales on a linerlock and still want the all-metal look, Aluminum slabs would be fairly easy to work with.
