I would like the blade shape and high end steel but need a locking for a edc that holds an edge a long time.G10 would be great but not a must. Thanks

Spyderco Chicago is almost exactly the same, but unfortunately it only uses 440c.

Only? I am not certain what you mean. 440C is about the same as BD1 and no one is complaining. 440C is used by ESEE in their hard use knives. This is the steel that made Buck famous (sadly they quit using it for a lesser steel). 154CM and similar steels build on the 440C foundation, so to speak. When hardened properly, it is a very good steel. It will not hold an edge as long as S30V, but it will certainly stand up to some serious use. It all depends on what you need a knife to do. 440C is certainly a good choice for a knife like the Chicago.

I would like a high end steel in a small blade like this as I've been tending down on what I like to carry. Skyline to leek to chill to crkt eros. The high end steel is so I won't have to sharpen as frequently for mundane stuff like cardboard boxes, zips, hay bails, some light carving ect. Nothing to severe but abrasive

That is a good point. I actually prefer both of these to the Squeak or Chicago. I gave away my squeak and bought Super Blue Manbug to replace it.

Or the upcoming Dragonfly in HAP-40. Rave reviews coming in for that steel.

I have no problem with 440c. I only inferred from OP's post that he wanted a more higher-end, newer steel.
