I'm looking for a particular style of knife and can't quite find what I'm looking for. I want carbon steel (1095/A2/01), full tang (not hidden), clip point or bowie, single guard, neutral grip, probably sabre grind, in the 5-7" range.

The closest thing I've seen to what I'm thinking of is a Patton mini-Bowie. The BRKT Teddy Hunter would be close, if it had a full tang. Even a full tang single guard Kabar wouldn't be bad. Any suggestions (and pictures) would be appreciated.

How close is this?

I know you said carbon steel, but the Fallkniven S1 sounds pretty close. The laminated VG10 is pretty good IMO.

The Fallkniven Odin or Njord have the blade shape I'm thinking of, but I really do want carbon steel and full tang.

I do want more of a "old school" look.

The Patton Mini-Bowie is pretty close, but a little spendy:

The Bark River Boone or Teddy Hunter would fit the bill too, if they had full/exposed tangs.

Babakanoosh, that's a little wilder than I was thinking:)

How about a RAT RC-6 ?

6.5" blade, full tang, 1095, single guard (integral,) and a great warranty.

The RC6 isn't a bad option. I love RC knives; I have 3 RC4s and 4 RATs too. But for this particular knife I'm looking for more of a clip point, possibly even a sharpened swedge. I'm also leaning toward a traditional guard, rather than an integral one.

The closest thing I currently have to what I have in mind is my sage HellRazor. But I want something more traditional, for when I'm feeling "old school".
