Just curious as I have been unable to find a tool with:

Decent regular blade
Saw
File
Serrated edge blade
Reg screwdriver
Phillips screwdriver
Pliers
Wire cutters
Magnifying glass. Similar to a sak

If I can find one with these options I am purchasing ASAP.

lol

I know there are custom makers of multitools and customizers that will disassemble the knife and mix & match the tools.

The magnifying glass will be hard to find to say the least. The other stuff you want should be a breeze.

I am seeking the magnifying glass as this would be a great addition to my fire making kit.

RWT,

That's not gonna be easy to find one that could include all you have mentioned, but a few come into mind that is close:

Swisschamp - no serration blade nor wire cutters
This 91mm tool has one of the highest weight-to-tool ratio on market

Swisstool Spirit - no Magnifying glass and either no regular or serration blade(there are two versions out there)
If the pliers is important, highly recommended for really high quality/design

Leatherman Charge TTi - no Magnifying glass
This probably is closest to your bill and one-hand opening blade is a big plus, but the pliers are more likely to pinch you if you are not careful. Personally, I felt Swisstool has higher quality for my own liking (you could feel it just be opening and closing all the tools).

Closest I can think of is a Victorinox Champ. Also, tale a look at some of the Wenger larger SAKs. They tend to make more with serrated or partially serrated blades. Also, a magifying glass isn't the best way to start a fire, especially one as small as on most SAKs. Put a Bic lighter in a small zip lock bag - more reliable :-)

I have tried lighting some fires recently with magnifying glasses, and didn't do well at all. (Admittedly it's winter here, so the sun is a bit more faint.) I figured I'd probably need a bigger magnifying glass, so this might be a problem for you. Any multitool is likely to have a small one. Comments?

numbersman,

There are a few models of Victorinox(Swisschamp, explorer, etc) or Wenger that does carry magnifying glass.

You'd probably know this, besides weather(wet and gloomy definitely work against magnifying glass fire-starting), I found that tinder is a major component for the success. Char cloth to catch sun heat, and other flammable tinder would work well for a sunny day. Following video use a small sized compass magnifying glass(similar to Vic size) to start a fire:

Wow! Help is at hand! Thanx for posting this. I have a Swisschamp with a magnifier with which for 20 years I have tried and failed to light a fire. I am going to try this technique and report back.

Best to look for a flexible plastic pocket magnifier if you want a simple magnifier for fire starting. They're about the size of a credit card, flexible, and flat. Best, they don't break. You can tuck one, sheathed in it's little holder, into the pouch of your fire kit or multitool and they take very little space..
Otherwise, get a regular magnifying glass. Glass or plastic ones both work. You can also tear down an old camera lens. That's what's in them. Layers of convex lenses. Cheap if you can pick up an old one at a thrift store or garage sale. But they can break, so wrap them in something to pad them.

I love starting fires that way on a sunny day. Takes me back to my childhood, minus the ants...:D

For a tool with the rest, look at the Gerber Freehand or Deisel, or check the SOG and Leathermans. Plenty out there for all your other needs.

I would contact Syph007 here on the forums. He can make what you need and give you a serious scale upgrade with HA-III alox scales in ultra-vibrant colors.

Interesting idea. Have you tried this?
Nope, but I've heard other people talk about it while looking at forum discussions and reviews. I plan on ordering one in a couple of weeks so we'll see if I ever do this then. I only have a diamond rod to do this with (no wheel or anything) so I might not since it might be too time consuming.

Or you could just get any of the swiss tools with a proper offset tooth saw. for adding or removing tools, a SOG powerlock would be the ticket, but I don't know about getting a magnifier in there, it would be hard to keep it from getting scratched I'd think... but it could be done. But when it comes to magnifiers, size is better than magnification, so I'd go for a fresnel lens in the wallet, much more useful. plus then you have the tool pliers free to use at the same time if needed.
