they are only released through SFO, and generally when they release one they give a few days notice here on the spyderco forum.

They pop up here on the exchange forum every once in a while, usually for double the price. depending on the steel the price varies. As you can see they have no scales or sheath so that is up to your imagination. I'm about to start scaling a CPM-M4 mule I have, when that is finished, I'll send it out for a nice kydex sheath courtesy of hte fine work of one of our forum colleagues. ;)

We're about due for a new one, so keep your eyes peeled. It'll be a lot easier and probably cheaper than getting someone to part with one of the older ones. They are sold only through the Spyderco Factory Outlet, so essentially we get them for what dealers would normally pay. The price is set by the cost to produce the model, including materials and labor. The 9Cr18Mo MT05 went for $19.95 new, while the CPM S90V MT03 went for $69.95.

They crop up on fleabay all the time. Look there. Sal also announced the MT07 today in a thread above.

They are only sold through the spyderco.com website. As mentioned before, it was announced that a new one will go on sale soon, usually a date will follow from where you can find them on the web site.

The next one will be made from Carpenter's CTS-BD1 steel.

Interestingly it seems to have lower edge retention, but higher corrosion resistance than CTS-XHP, which was used in a recent Manix 2 sprint run. I wonder if this will translate into a less brittle steel (only the real chemistry steelheads around here will be able to answer that one):

There are a couple of points that need to be made. They are sold only through the SFO, and there is usually a limit on how many you can buy. The 9Cr18Mo wasn't restricted, but most have been limited to two per customer. The number produced varies by steel, and seconds usually get listed for about $5.00 less after the regular pieces are gone. These are first come, first served, and once they are gone, they are gone for good. So watch for the announcement and have your speed-dial ready. :D

Looking at the chart, I might skip this one and wait for a mule in CTS-XHP. Already have the 9Cr18Mo and the S35VN and need to pay for a M4 Millie soon.

I think Sal mentioned one will come out in CTS-204P, which looks like it has everything. Very interesting.

It was mentioned a sometime ago that there was a retailer somewhere in the sothern US.Reselling them for about double.
