i have carried a juice s2 daily for over 4 years. most days i'll pair it with my gerber eab or one of my medium sized folders (leek, twitch 2, etc)... looking to give the juice some shelf time. what sak's have the longer phillips driver that deploys out the end of the knife and not out of the middle of the back?

i'm new to the sak world. i would love to have the features of the pioneer with the addition of the phillips screw driver that comes out the end, not the middle of the back of the knife. any suggestions that match those features?

The Explorer Plus is one of several which have the phillips that swings out 180 degrees like God intended. Thats the one I carry.

There is SAK selector at sosakonline.com that will produce a list of SAKs with whatever features you input.

See also smartknives.com, with descriptions and pics of the whole SAK lineup.

Explorer Plus.

Not sure if it will suit your needs, but the tip of the can opener is designed to fit phillips screws.

that could possibly work. i work inside of computer equipment a lot and the most used part of my juice s2 is the phillips bit that will extend down into a case to pull a screw out.

i really like the tinker deluxe to replace my juice needs, but i wish that screw driver flipped out the right way.

You might want to check out the sak cyber tool It has a long skinny driver with changeable magnetic bits. Some even have a USB stick that is nice if you got to use software to config the comps.

cybertool 29 and explorer got my vote... i'm gonna purchase the cybertool for the same purpose... already got the explorer... but the versatility of cybertool screwdrivers really interest me...

I'm considering cybertool 29 becouse its lighter, but the 34 definately gonna be more usefull and one stop.... i'm gonna have to make up my mind, so i dont end up with BOTH!

Current models that come to mind are: Explorer, Spartan Lite, Huntsman Lite, Traveller lite, Voyager Lite, Expedition Lite, Champion Plus and Swiss Champ.

Retired tools (and so harder to find and can command greater prices): Passenger, Yeoman, Woodsman and Scientist.

Have a look here for a good round up of most models past and present:
