Is there a size difference btw Endura thru E4?

At a sporting goods store today, I saw several Enduras in the display case. They looked to have wider and thicker blades, and not by a little. It seem that they also had thicker handles as well.

Is there a size difference in the different generations of the Endura? I have an Endura 4 and it seemed very slim in comparison.

The Gen 1 Endura has a molded clip and the Gen 3 Endura has the same handle as the Pacific Salt. Steel liners were added for the Gen 4 models but they are all about the same size and thickness. I don't know what you saw but if they were significantly different from your Gen 4 then they weren't Enduras.

That's interesting. Next time I'm there I will ask to see those knives, and compare them side by side with my E4. It sounds strange, but I also know that I looked at the handles and they said "Endura".

Tip of the Endura 4 blade is less acute than that of earlier versions. That might make the blade look wider, at least to some folks. Endura 4 handle is a bit narrower than the Endura 3 version, which may also make its blade look wider. Blade thickness should be the same for all generations.

I've recently had a similar experience when looking at knives, open in a store display case where they just looked huge. Must be some sort of optical illusion due to the angle of the case shelving, lighting, etc. All the Enduras are very close in dimensions, so I'm thinking it may just be a perspective thing.

Wish I could just leave it alone and chalk it up to an optical illusion. But, then I wouldn't be being myself.

Ok, the only difference was a slightly less "pointy" blade on the older Endura, and the Sabre grind gave the blade the illusion of greater thickness. So Billy, you were correct, it was purely an optical illusion, much to my chagrin!
