Just wondering, I am going to the rockies hiking June '04 and was wondering if I would be able to get one by then.
Thanks!

According to the posted schedule (top of the forum) they are slated for ordering in January. Even with the 12-14 week delivery I'd imagine you could have one by June. Although this is best answered by Busse....

I saw that schedule, but I didn't know if that was only for the Tac finish option, not the satin finish. Is it also for satin finish? If it was I would be verrrry happy!

I'm definately not an authority to answer this, but I'll take a shot :)

It's my understanding that the designation "TAC" isn't associated with a particular finish, rather that model's new design. The actual finish is chosen from a number of options that vary for each model, of which satin may be a choice.

as far as i know, the tactical (tac), special forces (sf) and fusion (f?) arent really even a description of the design - its the handles specifically.

the tactical handles seem to be for the smaller blades that are meant mostly for utility purposes, the special forces seeming to be for the fighters, and mid sized knives (though the satin jack doesnt have sf... then again, the satin jack isnt really a fighter), and the fushion being for the heavy impact large blades.

i could be completely wrong in all of this, as there hasnt yet been a description of why the handles came to be, or why they were chosen for their specific models, but thats what it seems to be...

and of course im reiterating whats been said before so im sure i sound like an ass... but oh well

all i know is that THEYS DANG COOL :D

Ok, thanks for the clarification. It would rock if they offered all the blade finishes at the same time. This will probably be announced in more detail with the arrival of the new website right?

It is my understanding that all finishes/options will not be available with each batch.

Models will be released a couple at a time for one month each. That will be a batch. Each batch will be offered with certain (but not all) options. So, if you don't see options you want on the blades you want for one batch... wait 9 months and you can roll the dice again.

The statement that the SJ is not a fighter begs me bring up a subject I do not see discussed here at the Busse Forum... I have sat in on some of the Tactical forums to see what blade style seems most appropriate in H2H but would like t see what the "Busse Heads" think since I are becoming one myslef!! :)
I am not talking about slaying dragons or facing Jet Li - Just basic H2H fighting- something in the 5/6" category. Attributes or particular models.
Sorry to carry this thread somewhere else...
Thanks,
Bill
