Is there a way to turn off rep points?

Someone keeps neg repping me on posts I made weeks ago. They're all legitimate posts, like telling kids to keep knives at home and that 420HC from Buck isn't bad

It's not possible for the same person to keep rating your posts; the system won't let him do it often enough to make a significant difference in your rating. Please read the Reputation Points FAQ -- it's spiffy!

When the latest vBulletin software was installed you could turn off the rep system. Not sure when that changed, but that is no longer an option.

vBulletin allows you to turn on/off the reputation system: BFC has chosen ON
vBulletin allows you to hide your reputation, per user-group. People can still give you rep but they just can't see it: BFC has chosen OFF

When the new software was installed this option was tuned on. After a few months I noticed that I could no longer hide my rep. I'm not sure why the change was made.
