Is there an assisted opener with a large, deep bellied, large grips/scales model with a blade length of around 4 inches for about $100.00 either in a current production Kershaw or a discontinued model?

Check out the Rake.

Kershawguy has some ZT 301 blems for $165 I think. Most of the "big" Kershaws are 3.5. The ZT 200 blem is less than $100 but it's not assisted.

The Rake is listed on the Kershaw site as a 3 3/8ths blade length. I don't think there are any current Kershaw folding knives with lengths greater than about 3.5, although I'm hardly the expert on such stuff.

Thanks very much everyone. More choices than I realized.
Wonder why most blades are about 3.5 inches max? Is the market trend towards well under 4 inches? Knife laws?

For the sake of legality in most states, we tend to keep Kershaw's under 4". As mentioned already, the Tremor is about as close as I think you could get in Kershaw. Other than that you'd have to take the plunge and buy a ZT ;)

I second what was said above. The only thing about the Tremor is that it's lower than the price you listed (being an import and all). It's the closest in length with the assist that you specified. The Rake is shorter than you want (though I was under the impression that it was straight 3 1/2 rather than the 3 3/8 someone else mentioned). ZT 030x series is assisted and the right length but is higher than your price. Sorry that's how the decision falls, but that's your spec and the best it can be met.

For the Tremor, turn to page...

I think you'd also start to get pretty unwieldy handles above 4 inches. Some guy has a video of "the most lethal folder" that's about 15 inches long folded and 30 inches open. Doesn't really look like something you'd actually carry, though.

The Shallot is more than 3.5in I think.

The Speed Bump (now discontinued but still available) is a lil longer, like 3.75 I think.
