Is there an easy way to finish damascus blades?

I've used the search function and come up with some ideas on obtaining high definition results on damascus blades.

However, it occurred to me there might just be a simpler way to get acceptable results taking a simpler path.

Any ideas you may have on this will be most appreciated!

If you don't want the "definition" just sand it out, perhaps polish, oil and use. But why use Damascus if you don't want to see what's there? Frank

Oh, I want to see it! Just hope to get there more easily than seems to be necessary!
 
try 3 to 1 F.C. with distilled water. If the etch looks pitty go to 4 to 1 or 5 to 1
Radio Shacks F.C. works well at 3 to 1
