Sorry for the off-topic thread....but is anyone else getting hammered with junk email that has suspicious attachments? It seems that I get maybe 6-10 a day for the last few days. My Norton isolates all attachments so I've never opened them....I guess I really don't know if they are viruses......but I'm getting more than ussual amounts lately.

Anyone else relate to this surge lately...?

Rob

Hi Rob,
Yeah, I have been getting some weird email too. Usually its from someone I don't know and there is an attachment with it. Whenever I get stuff like this I just delete it.

The current one going around is a worm virus called Win32.Klez.H. Other aliases for it are W32/Klez-G, I-Worm.Klez.h, I-Worm.W32/Klez.gen@MM, W32.and Klez.H@mm. This one propogates by email, so you need not only up-to-date anti-virus protection, you need one that scans incoming mail.

I received 2 or 3 instances of it yesterday, but my anti-virus software nabbed it before it could infect my system. If you want to know more about, Pat Osborn (KnifeWife) gave full details in the Computer Center Forum at CKD. Here's a link:

I have my email several places on the web, and most seems to generate from there. When I get spam I block future messages, and I think some folks take offense and decide to 'get even'.

I check every single day for updates. Period. No matter what.

My AV catches the viruses real-time so that isn't a problem, but it sure does waste a lot of time and resources for everyone.

Update, Update, Update !

We have had a computer crash and have restored everything except norton virus protection so are not using email, we suspect a virus. If anyone is trying to get in touch with us please telephone if you have not recieved a reply to your email in 12 hours or so.

Yep
Its like they virus god has unleashed the idiots that send them.
Got ten emails with virus's the other day.
These guys need the a** kicked.

I get spam mail with virus attachements at least twice a day. I use a public email service so unless I open the attachement, it can not infect my computer. No ideea where they get our email addresses
