is there any good knife specific wiki out there?

going to wikipedia to find information about something knife related doesn't give me much. I have seen wikis based around different themes, and they have a lot of information.

does one exist, or does it have to be made?

If there was only a place on the internet where you could ask knife enthusiasts for information on and opinions of a specific knife...that would be awesome. Maybe with representatives of knife manufacturers present.

Somebody oughtta make one of those.

The search function on this site should give you most of the information you need. There are some very knowledgeable people around here.

I would have to agree with n2 on this one. There isn't much you can't find out by searching these (or other) forums.

The only hiccup might be... is search still disabled for non-paying members?
If so, I recommend using Google. Simply add site:bladeforums.com to your search to limit results to strictly those from these forums.

Depending on the scope of said wiki project, it could be a potentially massive undertaking.
It could be done, but not without the help of a lot of knowledgeable people with a lot of free time.

I would say you are already logged into and posting in one.

Yep:thumbup:

You will find MUCH more knife info here than you EVER will at Wiki.

The small amount BF charges is worth this alone IMO, and you get others benefits as well.
If you don't want to pay just google it, and it will usually show several BF post on the subject.

A public website purporting to be an authoritative repository of crowd-sourced knife information, with all the objectivity and accuracy of Wikipedia? I'm sure it would be free of contentious politics, too. What could go wrong?
