How's it going folks?

I was curious if there anyone knew of a definitive way to tell if a Griptilian (large or small) was originally from the Benchmade custom shop via their site?
If there is, how do you do so?

Thanks in advance.

The box should have something in the model number either. I can't remember what it was but it was an acronym for custom right by the model number.

I was curious also so I found a picture of a custom box. The number on the custom box is CU556-SS-20CV.

Yeah that's exactly what I was talking about just couldn't remember the coding. Box tells the truth.

Fantastic, thanks folks!

Now to find a beat up user, second hand...

What if you bought the knife without a box?
For instance, I have a mini grip with od green handle and s30v blade. How do I know if it's from the custom shop?

Welp, either no ones knows, or ain't telling.
Guess I'll just send it in, ask for an m4 sheepsfoot blade and see what happens.

I am not sure.
Personally, before I sent it in, I would call.

When I called I was told that they would not swap blades on knives that were not custom shop knives. I did not ask if they had a method for telling which was and was not originally from the Custom Shop.

I called and was told the same thing.
After describing knife, was told it should be a custom, and eligible to swap for any other custom blade currently offered. She said send it in.

Did you ever find out how to tell the difference? Are you interested in selling the mini m4 sheepsfoot or just the blade?
