G'Day, Does anyone know if the Schrade History Book has reached printing/distribution stage yet?
I just searched prior statements re the book on this forum with Schrade knife photos being submitted by Bruce Voyles "from the book" on 5th Feb 2007.
Submissions were being solicited 19th February 2006 with I quote Mr. Voyles "I'm looking to make this book historically correct and interesting with accurate prices".
Is the new Schrade Society looking for further Schrade solicitations to allow the book to proceed or is the book already in print and if so where/when may I obtain one? Do any members have any info?
Mr. Voyles are you there please? Hoo Roo

Producing books is a slow process. Sorry. And I'm slower than most, and unfortunately I have discovered I have a tendency to overstate how quick I can get something done without allowing for distractions. (My daughter had my first grandchild in December and I was in the delivery room for that and that takes a priority over getting a knife book done.) My goal is to have it at the Blade Show but again that is a goal and not a guarantee.

Got some quotes from the printers this past week to be specific on progress, and will have some specific questions soon on a gap or two that hopefully some members of this forum can help with.

We are not taking orders for the book, nor will we until the book printed. I will post to the forum when it is available if that is within the rules, or contact me directly.

Thanks for the interest.

Bruce Voyles

Bruce, congradulations on your new grandbaby! Good things take time, and I am sure when you do get around to printing, it will be well worth the wait! Thanks for all your hard work and effort in an another great American past time.

Congratulations!

I am pleased to hear you aren't rushing publication. As you no doubt have discovered, the ISC history is extensive as is the family of knives produced by the various entities over the one hundred years it claimed as it's lifespan. I have traced it back much, much further. And found historical notes that amazed me.

Riddle me this: What did James Joyce and Eisenhower have to do with ISC? :D
