Is there any way I can make the factory Enzo necker scales removable?

Note to mods: Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum section. There is no Brisa knives section.

So to my question…I want to eventually pick up an Enzo Necker with green micarta scales pictured here:

But I really don't trust myself buying the kit and filing down the scales myself.

Is there a way I can remove the factory scales if I buy the version with them already attached and then put them back on with removable screws of some sort?

I'd really like to have the option of removing the scales any time.

I was thinking about using two screws or allen bolts, one nearest the blade and another one in the current lanyard hole (would that hold the scales on well?) I don't see why not but I've never tried this. The BK14 holds its scales on with two allen (or is it hex?) bolts so I figure it must work, right?

Then I would remove the two pins and run my own lanyard through the two pinholes.... or maybe one of the pinholes that you see near the lanyard hole in the pic below:

So you think it will be easy for me to remove the factory scales?
Thanks for any advice.

I'd find a rod that fits in the hole by the ricasso and one that fits the lanyard hole, then I'd drill and tap holes through those rods for screws. That way you are not permanently altering the knife itself.

Or

Shape a spacer to fill the large void in the middle, then drill and tap that for handle screws, that leaves you the lanyard hole. You could also drill the holes through and use chicago screws instead of tapping it as depending on steel thickness there might not be enough meat in the spacer to get threads to bite.

Have you considered buying the kit and having one of the craftsman here make the scales for you?

Thanks for some good suggestions.

The reason I want removable scales is if something damages them in the field where it's uncomfortable to grip the knife with them on, I can just remove them.

I've got time to decide which suggestion I will go with. The first one seems optimal as it retains the factory scales, which I prefer.

You can use chainring bolts like we have on our stonewashed Alpha and Brute knives. All you would need to do is counterbore the handle material so the hardware sits flush and you would be able to take them apart.

You can also use the same idea as the other Eric suggested but you can buy the threaded piece as pictured. That's just a part from mcmaster called a stand off. Your local Fastenal or hardware store would probably have them as well.
