Is there any way to straighten a bent blade? UPDATE: think I found it!

I have a knife that I really like, and hope to continue to use as a 'beater' knife for those occasions when I don't want to screw up one of my good knives or in a situation where I might easily lose a knife, due to elevation or rough terrain.

The problem is: the blade is bent! It's a folder with 3-1/2 inch 440C steel blade, and it has a 2 degree bend that covers about the last 3/4-inch (or slightly more) toward the tip of the blade.

Is there anything I can do to straighten (or at least minimize) the bend in the blade? or is this a lost cause? Obviously I don't want to spend a lot of time or money on a relatively inexpensive beater knife, but the bent blade kind of gets on my nerves when I use it - not that it's caused me any apparent problems yet - and I hate to quit using it in 'beater' situations because of the bend. Of course, the good news is, it has served it's purpose of avoiding damage to one of my better knives.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide! Please bear in mind that while I regularly sharpen, clean and oil my knives (ie. routine maintenance), I have never done any repairs on them.

UPDATE: think I may have found it...

Is this the answer I need?

Lots of ways to straighten a bent blade.

The point is that you will have to figure a way to isolate where the bend is and overbend it back there. You've got to bend it back past straight at that spot. Go slow, try and test.

You will break some doing this. If you're careful it won't be a huge percentage but....

If you straighten them you have to be prepared to break them.
