Is there anyone reputable who can swap scales on the PM2? Comp locks can be so finicky.

I can fiddle with backlocks all day long but the comp lock is so finicky comaparitively. I paid the maker of my Metonboss scales to install them, he did a great job, but am unsure if he'd do so for another brand. The scales are Russian/Finnish with the maker residing in Finland now, so quite a bit further away. Getting the action right and getting the body screws not stuck in the spacers are my hardest parts.

They are very beautiful and I wish heavily to be able to install them properly. Any advice on how to do it or who might do it is seriously appreciated!

It isn’t the assembly you have to worry about, more so the random use of red loctite found in PM2 screws. If it isn’t budging, don’t muscle it. You’ll need to heat up the screw. Aside from that, it’s easy, just pick a side and build up. I prefer to put the compression spring on top and push down before tightening. Doing it the other way leads to trouble keeping the blade on the pivot.

Thanks, I'll try this. Luckily it seems no loctite on mine.
If you can take a frame lock apart, a PM2 won’t be a issue.
I have no exp taking apart framelocks, unfortunately.

The youtube has a few vids on PM2 disassembly you could look at.

Definitely doable, but you should also watch out for the lanyard tube which may be a pain to remove. I changed the scales on my PM2 several times without problems. It may also take some time to get a nice centered blade with fluid action, but the joy of disassembly is also in tinkering with the knife.

I got the tube with a magic method that worked wonders, and I know, usually I enjoy tinkering. I would enjoy it more if it wasn't for all the time and money thay went into this, I just want the PM2, haha. I have two sets of the scales so I can learn with the other pair. I see your point however.

I remember seeing (a number of years ago) a post about the order in which to tighten the screws... The person had disassembled his PM2, and couldn't adjust out the blade play without making it too tight to flick open.
