Is there anything that can be done to mask this kind of wear?

I've been edcing this knife for close to a year now and it's beginning to show some wear. Is there a way to superficially mask those scratches? I believe it's anodized aluminum(It's an MKM flame).
 
You can try cleaning it with a magic eraser and see what happens. I think whatever it got scratched on left its material on your knife, could be wrong though. Aside from that I’d say just let is wear. The character that develops on an EDC makes it uniquely yours for life.
 
The surface looks textured? You can try to match the texture.

Sometimes the best thing is to rub the whole thing with a scotch brite pad. After that it will be easy to maintain.
 
Yup…I’d leave it as is. It’s aluminum so I’m not sure that I would sand or scotchbrite it.

Those scratches are a life of love. Keep adding them. By the time it’s all filled up…you’ll be pining for a new EDC anyways. :)

Looks to me like the handle has minute gouges in it (scratches) instead of a layer of something else sitting on the surface. While aluminum oxide IS very hard, it's also thin. Usually only a thousandth of an inch thick. If something hits the surface hard enough, the base aluminum beneath will give, and you will get a scratch.

There's no DIY way to touch up anodize, if it is gouged. You can try to find a Sharpie of a similar color and color it, but you'll need to redo that often.

Scratches come with the territory. They are a sign of a well loved knife.
 
Shows that you used the knife, leave it and carry it with pride.

On a side note this happens to me when I carry a knife in the same pocket as keys, etc.
