and not longer than 7.25" in length? Not finding anything. Looking for an edc dagger. Thanks.

It does not take years to get a custom knife made. That's one of the worst assumptions we see often here on this board. Yes, the best guys are going to be booked way in advance. But not always, and it's your challenge to see what you can get done.

Having a knife built the way you want it is great! It's yours; no one else has one. And it's very likely that's going to be true forever. For as long as the knife exists you will be associated with it.

Even better, it's what you want. Single edge, double edge, swedge, diamond cross section, cruciform, something else. Wood, or stag, or bone, or wire wrap for the grip; engraved or not; with your name, or initials, or whatever. Damascus, cpm 154, A2, bright polished, blued, coated, with a hamon, the choices are yours to make.

You can get a good custom made knife for under $300 from a dozen makers, no problem. You can occasionally find a great deal on a knife for sale used. Or you can settle for what everyone else has and the knowledge you compromised.

The best I can do if you have to have production and right away, AG Russell's Sting. Look it up.

Check out the Falkniven Garn. Excellent knife compared to the Guardian. Almost the same size.

I had the ZT 150 for about a day and then carried it on a dog walk, and when I came home it was gone. [I said to my wife; "why couldn't I have lost the dog instead !?'] It's a great little dagger, but it's the only knife that ever left me, so I've got a bit of a beef with it.

THanks all. i really like the fallkniven G1. if i was to buy it, could i easily have a custom sheath made for IWB carry? Or will it be too big to conceal? Reall nice looking knife there for sure. it will need to be comfortable for all day carry like my pistol, BUG, and BUG to the BUG.

I'm not sure what specifically you consider "higher quality," but the older Gerber guardians were much higher quality IMO than the new ones. The old ones had thicker blades, cast aluminum handles in black or camoflauge, and depending on just how old, some had leather sheaths also. There were also fancier versions with wood and brass handles and mirror-polished blades, though these cost a premium if you can find one. I believe the old ones were made with 440c blades, not the unknown stainless being used now. They also had serial numbers which through a little online research allows you to find out when they were made. You can find numerous examples available on the main online auction site. They should vary in price between $35 to $90 depending on age and condition. I own 20 or so examples of this knife, but only have one of the new versions. The new one feels and looks like a cheap plastic toy compared to my older ones.
