Is there such a thing as perfect?

Have you ever bought a piece of equipment and left it alone, didn't modify it, didn't wish for more. It was perfect all by itself from the designer?

I see so many threads about 'the newest thing that I had to have but it just isn't perfect unless it had this other stuff.'

What did you buy that was perfect from the getgo?

Perfect is extremely hard to achieve. For two reasons
1. You can't please everyone.
2. Our opinions and standards always change - that is why knives and tools constantly get better.
The only way to be happy with what you got is to know the basics. For me I thought that the Leatherman Wave was top notch when I bought it half a year ago, now that the tti is out and the TI and XTI have dropped in price I want another one.

I'm a major league gear whore and can only think of two things I have that I wouldn't change something on...

Kifaru Express
Bill Siegle Hoodlum II

I guess alot of stuff seems imperfect because the companies have to please a general group of consumers, as it wouldn't make economic sense to produce hundreds of options of the same basic kit just to please people.

Having said that, I just got a Tti for my birthday, and it's I can't really think of anything that would make it better, so for me at least, it's pretty much perfect. To be honest I was really blown away by the quality of the build. Then again it is the one of the most expensive things I own- it cost more than my car:) - so maybe I shouldn't be so surprised.
