Looks real to me
From this limited view, looks OK.
There's no saying that the knife pictured, is the one they'll send you. Might be a picture of a legit 25, but then a $100 buck fake shows up in the mail.
Solid point.
My apologies to all for another one of these threads. My blood tends to boil when I see this garbage. This one just looked to me like a different style of fake (better) than what we normally see.
Definitely a fake at that price.Keep in mind that the picture of that 25 may not be the actual knife you receive, which wouldn't surprise me if it is a fake at that price.
I guess I'm not understanding what the big issue is with this blade... Yes, it's a fake, but no one is trying to pass it off as a legitimate Chris Reeve knife. In the product description, the first line states in big red letters: "SELLER DISCLAIMER - This auction is for a CLONE/REPLICA. This knife is NOT manufactured by Chris Reeve." I mean, no one is trying to be deceptive about the knife. It doesn't in any way diminish the quality of my legitimate Chris Reeve, nor do I think is it pulling any business away from the legitimate, original Sebenza. Anyone who knows they are looking for a Sebenza is not going to be swayed to buy a fake no matter how real it looks. I dunno, just my two cents. I don't think Chris gives a rat's behind about a couple of fakes out there. They aren't hurting his business at all.
The fact that they have replicated a patented design is criminal and wrong to start. They have also went to great lengths to pass it off as real with the stamping of the CRK logo and "Idaho made" which it is clearly not. It is absolutely meant to be deceptive and if you cannot understand this than no one will be able to explain it to you.
Ps. Clones DO hurt Chris reeves business and that is why he wants to be informed of every fake in the market. Please take a look at his website and how he feels about clone sebenzas.
Yes, Chris cares about his customers getting scammed and he worries about his reputation being hurt by clones being passed as real CRK blades. In the case of this seller, it is plastered all over his eBay listing that this is not a genuine Chris Reeve product and to not be expecting such. Your average knife collector is not buying Chris Reeve knives, someone who is willing to shell out $400+ for a knife is buying Chris Reeve knives. Chris' apparent issue is with scammers passing their knives as legitimate, charging the same prices as his and scamming his customers.
Nowhere on the knife does it say "clone" or piece of $h!t". This knife or its brother can and will be listed as legit. It exists and it is repulsive.
