Is this a bad sanding job on the brown scale of my 0561?

Isn't that supposed to be flush with the liner . If it were, getting the thumb to the lock bar would be a little easier .

Just like on the XM 18, the scale overlaps the liner. It is normal. There was a post a few weeks back where a guy sanded it down to be flush with the liner and called it his "southard mod".

Every one I've seen looks like that. I think at one point ZT had plans to scallop the scale but at some point decided not to.

If Rick designed it the way he did the XM-18, it's that way for a reason. It's supposed to be close to even with the lock bar side to prevent accidental lock bar movement when squeezing the handle.

I actually like that they didnt make if flush. Its almost like zt did it on purpose due to how hard it is to please everyone. Kinda like we are gonna make it this way but if you feel the knife is harder to close and need more leverage its an easy mod to grind the scale a little and not have to work any of the metal parts.
