Is this a blem or a fake?

I'm not sure on this, it looks good but the whole blade shape is wrong, I'd say its a fake. Way to much belly.

Rycen's opinion made me look at some pic's of 550's (I own a 555) and it seems like the 550 isn't just a scaled up 555 but it does have that extra belly, I redact my previous statement and agree its legit.

Looking at my 550 (purchased new from a legit dealer) I see two things that are different from mine. Perhaps changes in model years? I dunno, but the differences that I see are two-fold:

  1. The Spydie Hole (when compared to the top and the grind line) appears smaller on the ebay version.
  2. The wording under the "Mel Pardue" signature is all above the grind line on mine. Some of the wording falls below the line on the ebay version.

I know mine is legit and I know that these two differences exist. What I do not know is whether these differences indicate a fake or blem. Perhaps one of the more knowledgeable folks can comment.

FWIW. :)

Line variation not at all uncommon, sometimes it's the grind height that varies a hair relative to the logo, sometimes the logos themselves vary. No question in my mind it's legit.

Looks good to me. That being said, why would deal with the flea-bay when you can get that same knife new for the same price or cheaper and be guaranteed it's 100% legit?
