Hi.
Being some time since i purchased my trusty buck knife, I have mislaid any and all information I had on it. All i know is that it does the job (and is starting to get in serious need of sharpening).
Anyways, I have some problems identifying it.
Can someone help me?

There is a number on the blade, close to the handle, and it says 653. Searching on "653" or "model 653" on buckknives.com however dont work out too well. Ive found some people referring to that model as a nighthawk tanto, but not found any pics of it.
Can someone positively identify this knife for me? And if so, know where I can find more detailed information about it? (Materials its made of for example)

Thank you in advance

It is indeed serving me well. There is a "upside down" U also near the number. Any knowledge about what that indicates?

Btw. Bought it back in 1999 when i was still in the army. The combination of "the previous milennium" and the treatment it has gotten would make any knife look a bit worn i guess :p

And thanks for the help!

Tigerman: Yours looks original with nylon sheath and all.
It's the marking which matter most.
The brass snap button is also a sure way of ID'ing a genuine from a copy.
It's got to have the "Buck" name on it.
I kinda like this particular Buck tanto myself.
Very much a product of the time.
It's just as well that its discontinued.
For, oriental copies are still very much around

I kinda recall it coming with some paper stuff to prove its genuinity and stuff as well as details about materials and stuff. I bought it from a serious dealer anyways, so it is indeed original..
