I had an idea but wanted to see what you guys thought of it.
In case you guys haven't noticed; I really like to see photos of knives you make with the wood you get from me. Even though I haven't been here a long time, forum members have bought several hundred blocks of burl wood from me.
Here is my idea:
1. Start a thread where photos of knives using wood from me would be posted. It doesn't matter if the wood was purchased or won in a previous give away. As long as it came from Burl Source.
2. Each different knife posted would be an entry into the weekly give-away contest.
3. The post number of the knife photo would be the entry number.
4. Each week a number would be selected using a random number generator to select a number between 1 and the number of posts at that time.
5. The winner would receive one of the best blocks I cut that week.
6. Every different knife the makers posted would be an entry into the contest.
I thought doing this would accomplish a few things.
#1 - I would get to see all the cool knives made with my wood.
#2 - My customers would get to win some of my best wood. Every week they would have another chance.
#3 - Other forum members would get to see how different woods look when used for knife handles.
Is this a dumb idea? .....or would you guys be willing to play?
