This Remington looks too good to be true. What makes me think it's a little off, is how shiny the pins and the shield are. I figure something that old would have more patina, unless of course it was never carried, or has been buffed up.

(( removed violation ))

Greatly appreciate any help with this one.

Thanks

is not Remington brand a low end one?? if so then why would anybody want to counterfit it?? I am just trying to learn.

Between WWI and WWII, Remington made some of the best knives in the world. Real ones from that era fetch high prices in fair condition, and even more in good or better condition. They are faked quite often.

The bullet knife I have from 1990 was made by camilius I believe. Nice big slipjoint. Good quality.

Not the old knives. The old ones are some of the best around and the ones with acorn shields and punch awls are some of the most sought after knives. If it is a Remington knife before WWII then it is a well built knife, after that they kind of went to pot.

I recently picked up one of those in a flea market. The condition is not as nice, but it is still a rare old gem. These knives are incredibly well built and heavy. Any recommendations on pricing?
