Probably a Chinese knock off, look at the description, and it says the blade is 440c.

(( even with such an obvious fake it is not a good idea to link to a live auction ))

The link above is to an ebay auction of what appears to be a chris reeve knife. this price is amazingly low, but the knife seems to have all of the right markings (including the stamps) can someone tell me whats up with this?

Check the item location.

Blade steel marked as 440c.

I think it's quite safe to call it a fake. :)

I must admit it looks fairly well done , imagine if the folks that made that fake put that same energy into making their very own knife , they would be on to something they could proudly call their own... Sad.

The first thing I can tell you is that you will probably get a infraction by the moderators if that's a live auction. Remove the link, copy the pictures and post them here so you don't get in any trouble.

what makes me want to ignore the description is because theres a chance whoever this is might have absolutely no idea what theyre talking about, and couldve listed the wrong steel. i honestly think this is a near perfect knock-off. at least they didnt list it as the real thing.

how do you know? for future reference.

1.China assume anything and everything from China is a fake. They operate with complete impunity from their goverment to make fake products on a massive scale. I won't even believe them if they tried to say it's real, which they didn't.

2. It wasn't listed as a CRK knife.

3. At that price? The old saying about too good to be true.

Although there have been times where people have come accross knives that were much more vauluable than the seller knew, it usually isn't the case with Chinese items.

It's the real thing man. Look at the stamp, the colors, the steel, and mostly the price. It has to be a Chris Reeves knife, even though they don't say so, just trying to fool you. Get it and be happy:rolleyes:.
How many of these fakes at unbelievable prices are you going to inquire about before you realize that e-bay is not a place of uninformed people selling treasures? When it comes to knives it is a place where people sell cheap knock offs with fake markings and ambiguous descriptions. Look here and search to find reliable internet and e-bay vendors. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=699
