Not sure, but would think it would be 420hc. I would have to go back and see if I could find it in the specs of the special projects list, if its there. But 420hc would be the least premium it would be. Not a shot at 420hc at all but that is Bucks normal everyday steel. It could be a more premium steel 154cm, or ats34.

This was a Special membership knive done for RMEF several years back, one thing to note this was imported from China not a facory USA factory knife.

This may or may not be legitimate. We did have these produced for the RMEF a while ago, and they were manufactured in China. However, these have also been a favorite of the counterfeit sellers. We have seen these pop up on numerous sites (many in China). The problem is, since the originals were made in China and they do such a good job copying, the counterfeit ones look exactly like the legitimate ones and both are made in China. Best thing to do is to ask how the person selling it acquired it. If it was from a web site, I would be leary. If it was from a "brick and mortor" store in the US, then probably ok, or if from the RMEF itself, then ok.

Ummmmmm.......if it's the same knife--how could the word "counterfeit" apply?

Although it is obvious that the "Edition" is no longer "Limited."

If you're going to have a limited edition made in China......it might be a better idea to just call it an UNLIMITED Edition in the first place.

:D

It wouldn't be the same knife, if say Buck ordered 500, those would be legitimate genuine knives If the a different factory made more than that unauthorized and sold them, those would be counterfeit.

If the knives are identical, there's no way you could determine a "counterfeit" from a "genuine" anyway, so the distinction is irrelevant.

Even if the knives were numbered, you might end up with a thousand of each number and not be able to make a case that any specific knife was genuine.
