Is this a forging defect?

Recently picked up a Gransfors Bruk Wildlife Hatchet. Really like it but noticed something that I’m wondering if it’s going to turn into a problem down the road. On the underside of the head, where the haft enters the eye, there seems to be a…well, not sure whether to call it a crack or spacing. I have another Gransfors axe (Small Forest axe) and there is a faint etching in this same exact space but the metal doesn’t part like this. Is this something to worry about? Manufacturing defect or done on purpose to accommodate the handle?

Yes, I will give you $20 to take it off your hands. 🤣

But yeah I have no idea so more knowledgeable people will have to help you. Looking forward to the answer myself.

Yeah that's normal for 'em. It's just an artifact of their eye punching/drifting process.
