Is this a Genuine Fisher Pen?

Just arrived - purchased thru eBay - and am wondering if this is a genuine Fisher pen or a knockoff. Came in a plastic box w/a poorly done gold Fisher logo and "Adventurer Designed For The Future" writen on it. Pen top is marked:"Y2K Space Ball Pen By FISHER." Metal is chrome finish and clip is gold finish. The whole thing seems light weight and cheaply made - although maybe I was just expecting something better. Anyone have a way of telling if it is the "real deal"? Thanks.

Doesn't sound legit at this point... I'd say head over to their web site www.spacepen.com and see if a model like yours is/was offered. Also, if you want to be sure, they have contact info there, so you could actually ask the company.

I just got the full size astronaut pen I ordered. This'll be my work pen now, and my bullet will go in my jacket pocket.

Let us know.

fisher space pens are pretty dense for something of such miniscule size, is the grip a spiraled indentation on yours? the real ones are.

There are so many "brand names" that are really just cheap knock-offs, that it probably isn't Fisher. Yes, check their website and see if they have anything like that. I bet they don't.

But not all Fisher products are the sort of clean lines and solid workmanship that built their original reputation. They have branched out to more 'elegant' but not necessarily tougher equipment.

I like that original astronaut model, but my new favorite is the military -- it's black, simple design, standard Fisher refill, and $10 (from Triple Aught Design!).

Thanks for posting the site. I just ordered a few pens there. Nice gifts for Christmas. (got one for me too).
