Muela is a Spanish knife production company. I have no idea where all their knives are made now, but in the past, they've been decent. Perhaps Fury (a name of shame in this business :)) is marketing them, like Boker markets Opinel.

hmm, having a hunt around, look like he's actually asking a bit of a premium for said blade.

i could get a "Kangaroo" muela set for ~$5- more than he wants for this one knife.

I found this site and it has Fury and some of the other cheaper brands listed. I think Muela was originally a good production company but sold out and started making cheapies with their name on them.

It's already been said, but Muela was once a Spanish company that made knives of decent quality, but I believe they did sell out to the Chinese company Joy Enterprises, which also produces Fury knives and a few other cheap brands (Mustang, etc.). I'm not sure if the knives are still being made in Spain, or if they're now being produced in China, but I've definitely noticed a decrease in quality in just the past 3 years that I've worked for my current employer (we used to sell them). In my opinion they were overpriced by far, even when they were decently made knives, but now it's just a joke. We're talking custom prices before even being marked up to retail. Just not worth it.

So far as i know there is no such model as the "Muela Fury".
The bolsters on the blade look a little plasticy and cheap for a muela.
I say if there's any suspicion as to its quality or authenticity then you're probably best off not buying it.

Having said that, I'll always defend Muela as a company. My first fixed blade was a muela, back when i knew a little less about knives then i do now. I still think they are good value, given what else you can find as an Australian consumer.

yuh i've been digging around a little on the seller, while i can't find any "negative" feedback, i can't find anything "positive" either.

tempted though i am, and i'm very tempted, i think i'll pass on this one.
