Is this a good brand of Ammo??

Yes and Yes.
In my experience, stout .45 Colt loads give you more of a shove or push as compared to the snap of some other magnum loads. Rugers are plenty strong and Vaquero grips do a fine job of controlling recoil. If you are worried though I have two recommendations:
1) First off, read any literature from Ruger that came with your gun. This is to confirm whether it is safe with +P loads.
2) I would also suggest working up to the grizzly loads, if you are concerned about recoil. Start with some mild Cowboy Action loads, then some standard velocity loads, then full power commercial loads, then the +P stuff.

my neighbor has a hamilton bowen ruger-bisley .45 colt blued w/a SS cylinder and ejector rod housing and a big old muzzle brake counterbored into the bbl looks like its about .60 calibre lol, has the best trigger pull of any pistol i've ever fired, anyway i have shot some 300 grain loads outta it and while it does have some recoil no worse than say a .44 mag with about the same weight bullets.

i would work up to them also, start out a little lighter lol.
