Is this a good buy?

I cant view the knife from your shopping cart, but here are some things to take into account. If your just starting out buy a set (more than one), just because you dont want to be walking back and forth to retrive your knife, it can be very demoralizing especially for someone just getting into throwing. A good weight would be around 200g and for length roughly 20cm. Any throwing knife with handles wont have them for long.

Generally speaking, Cold Steel is a more reputable brand that uses better steels
Agree. You can't beat Cold Steel 80TFTC True Flight Thrower:thumbup:

+1 for the true flight thrower.
they have a good balance, don't bend, don't chip, and stick well.
at least mine does - YMMV. ;)
I also use my axe target for a knife target -- a 6" (15cm) or thicker round slab of tree trunk no less than 18" (45 cm) across.

One more vote for CS. I have had plenty of throwers over the years and even broken a few of them. I sent the broken pieces back to CS and got brand new knives back from them. Pretty great. All together I have broken 5 true flight throwers and got 5 new ones back. Great customer relations. Go with the CS trueflight thrower.:)

I do love cold steel as well, but as far as the first post is concerned, those knives seem fine for someone just getting into throwing. Good price. Look like they'd last a while.

Agreed, cold steel will last a long time, it will cost more. And if you are unsure your going to get into it, try those other ones.

and the last post looks nice.

It looks steady. Personally, I'm always hesitant toward handle scales on a thrower. As far as ease of throwing, it's a fine length and the point should help. Hell, for seven bucks, buy one, see how you like it, and if it's any good in your hands buy some more.

If your still hazy, wait for a second opinion. If you do just get it, tell us how it is!

I would just recommend going with cold steel. the heat treat and metal on those is probly going to be hard and brittle you wont be disapointed promise :D

You can also look about for Pro balance, pro flight, and perfect balance throwers from CS as well.

I have yet to break a CS thrower. I also throw the GI tanto, which is not designed as a dedicated thrower. I have not broken that one in 8 years of throwing, including bouncing it off of the hammer polls hard enough to actually cut steel.
