Hi you guys I'm asking this because the only sharpener I have is a cheap pull through I bought and it doesnt work that great and this seems like a good kit for the budget I have so is this a good kithttp://www.scheelssports.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10101&storeId=10001&productId=37101&langId=-1

i copied and pasted and it says that the site is unavailable

better link please?

That is a decent starter kit. If I were you, I would save for just a bit more and pick yourself a sharpmaker. You should beable to get it for around 50ish.

I'll second the sharpmaker (I just got mind, and it's amazing!), but don't forget to pick up a coarse stone, because you will need one eventually.

A coarse stone is a stone that is very rough and abrasive. It is used when you need to remove excess metal due to a very dull or damaged blade. You also use it to re-bevel blades.

The Spyderco Sharpmaker gives you 2 different sets of ceramic stones. This will also remove metal but no where near the speed of the coarse stone. I would suggest to check out www.newgraham.com for ur sharpening needs.

ill second the sharpmaker,,,ive had it about 3 months now,,,excellent...even comes with dvd to show how to properly sharpen ( not difficult )..
