I don’t know much at all in the electrical field... and am not afraid to admit it. I just saw this motor on Facebook and didn’t know if it’d be a good option for a disk grinder? The price could be a typo, but figured I’d ask you guys before I made a move on it.

Looks good to me, ‘specially if it’s that cheap!

Just called and they have multiple available and price is correct! I said I’d take two!

That's an amazing deal...unless they try and get you on shipping and "handling".

I ended up getting 4 of them! What are the different capabilities between 3 and single phase motor? I need to learn more about this stuff...

You can make a belt grinder, a disc grinder, a slow speed buffer, and have a spare motor for when you want to build a second grinder.

3-step pulleys will allow speed changes on a single phase motor.

I never thought about the buffer. A disk grinder is definitely where the first one will go. What is a good speed for the disk grinder?

Make a disc grinder and use the other 3 on a trade for a 3ph!! Great deal
