Is this a good place to start, all recommendations welcome, trying to keep it at $100

edit to add: I'm 19 and have been consistently shaving in the morning for mounths not years LOL, I've been interresed in this type of shaving since I was five years old and I wont to try it, I also have dry skin

You'll need a bowl, of course. But you can probably find something around the kitchen that works fine.

Or, go to your grocery store and look for Ziploc 1 Cup containers

They are the perfect size. They're great for travel too. A package of six is usually about five bucks.
 
Thats the idea I had, bowls are around 20$ but I might go ahead and pick one up. I might look on ebay and see if I can get one cheap.

After looking at cheap bowls on ebay, I decided to go with a edwin jagger bowl that I like it only put me a few bucks over buget.

Had my first shave today I could not belive how clumsy I was with the DE way differnt then what I was expecting, but still had a good shave (useing murkur blade had some pull) done one downward pass and one uper pass no bleeders, had some razor burn but after my witchazel after shave and ten min. it was gone, had a great time and can't wait for morning.
 
Sounds good.

Keep it up, your technique will get better and your amount of irritation will go down.
