Admittedly I know nothing about watches, but for some reason this one has really caught my eye for some time now. I just want to know if it is any good. It says that it is US made and that it has a 10 year warranty, and it's water proof. This is the 1st watch that I am buying so I really dont want to spend a whole lot on it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I think Guess watches are made by Timex. I like Timex.

Here's a bit of a better price.

Guess, Inc. started in 1981 as a fashion and jewelry brand, and began selling watches in 1984. Their glory days were in the mid to late 80's. Interesting article about them here http://news.charlesayoub.com/index.php/article/6331/Guess%20(clothing) Don't freak out over their labor relations. If people knew everything that went into making clothes, nudism would be a lot more popular.

They've been assembling watches for a while. If you like the look of a chronograph with a white dial, why not try it? You can buy one online for under $90. Or you could go to a jeweler and look at the Seikos and Pulsars. They make quartz movement chronographs too, some of them around that price point. Try a few of them on. See how you like different dial colors in sunlight. Have the jeweler show you how a chronograph works. If you don't like the band, watch bands are pretty cheap.

I like that watch. VERY clean and uncluttered, with cool movements.

For that price you won't regret it.

Sharp looking watch. Watches are both functional and personal, If you only wanted to know what time it is, you can look at your cell phone.
I say go for it, nice watch!

US assembled and maybe the hands are US made, no doubt it has a Japanese or Chinese quartz movement. Some of their watches have Miyota (Citizen) movements and those are good movements. I don't know about this one.

It has a "water resistant depth" of "100 meters," meaning one was tested at 10 atmospheres pressure and the crystal, the case, and the gaskets around the stem and under the case back withstood that pressure. You can swim with it but you shouldn't go off a dive tower. Here are the industry-standard water resistance depths and what they actually mean:

30 meters/3 atmospheres: splash resistant (knocking over your water glass)
50 meters/5 atmospheres: sprinkle resistant (in the shower, in the rain)
100 meters/10 atmospheres: immersion resistant (swimming, snorkeling, washing dishes)
200 meters/20 atmospheres: ordinary scuba diving to 130 feet

I have seen watches rated for 60 atmospheres and for outer space!
