So I just got a new cryp and cryo 2 and I love them but the cryo 2 lock bar cutout is like 2x as thin as the cryos cutout and it disengages really easy I mean I don't see how it would disengage accidentally and it doesn't have lockup issues I mean it has side to side but I can adjust it out, it just seems weak idk. The cryo has a stronger lock bar a thicker cut out and the cryo 2 cutout is on the inside but when I'm looking at the outside of the knife I can clearly see where the cutout is.

It does seem thin. I checked my Cryo 2 and it looks like yours. I haven't used mine much, but it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Yes, that is a problem. My standard Cryo looks like your standard Cryo. I can't imagine that the cut for a larger blade would leave you with less material. Get in touch with Kershaw. They'll handle it.

I don't know if that's how all cryo 2's are, but I would not be ok with that.

That is the design , nothing wrong. If it were to ever break , then it would be a problem. I have twenty more on the shelf just like yours. Enjoy it, use it, abuse it, no worries.

That is thinner than I've typically seen on other frame locks, but I'd don't know that I'd sweat it too much. If you were going to baton with it in the locked position, it might be an issue, but for normal edc use, it'll probably last years and years. I understand how you feel, though. I have the same hangup about the thin liners on the Ontario XM series. I'm sure they hold up just fine to daily use, but their thinness still bothers me. I think kershawguy is right, it's best to put it out of your mind and just start using it.

I'd still contact Kershaw and send 'em the pics. Just because there are a lot that look like that doesn't mean there aren't a lot that are screwed up. Manufacturing issues happen all the time, especially on early production runs.

The way you can see the line on the outside, did it come like that from day one or did that slowly appear after some use?

IMO, that comes under the heading of "Too Close for Comfort." I would send it in.

I've looked around and it's not the only one like that. On a 30$ knife idk of its worth all that sending in and a stuff

If it is an intentional part of the design and makes you uncomfortable, don't just send it in, RETURN it for a refund or a different model. Better safe than sorry, imho, even if the fear is unwarranted. SO many other models out there...

Whether that's "typical" of the Cryo 2 or not, I would not be happy with it. At all.
