I was cruising ebay today and decided to see what knives were for sale.I seen this one marked as a Fisk handmade knife so I clicked on it.

Is this one of Jery's older pieces ????I cannot tell from the picture if the mark is correct and was just wondering,if it is why is it so low? and if it is I figured someone here that has been wanting one of Jerry's knives might want to jump on it...

Thanks for answering my question:)

I saw that and wondered the same thing myself. At the very least, since "Jerry" isn't specifically named in the listing, either the seller is not very knowledgeable or it is not one of Jerry's knives. After all, if it was one of Jerry's knives, saying so would only bolster its final sales price.

This same seller has a R Ruanna Bowie for sale also and it is way low also. May be someone trying to move someones old collection and doesnt know what they have ?????

The "FISK" mark is accurate for the older piece shown.
One of the bidders is a premier expert on Fisk knives.

You could e-mail the bad photos to Jerry for the definitive answer.
Hope this helps.

The seller has a few other handmades for sale and looks like they are just unloading a old collection so I am going to say it is real and that they dont know what they have.

Never thought I would see one of his knives on ebay.

Actually, Jerry's older knives (usually not this old) can be found on eBay from time to time, however generally not at bargain prices. The reserve is usually set close to market value.

I've seen several of Jerry's knives on ebay. This looks like, very bad pics of the real thing.

One of my folders sold for half price on ebay because of very bad photos, I was going to buy it but a good friend got it for a song.

I dont look on ebay much so I guess I just missed seeing them before.Guess it is still likely to find a deal these days, someone cleans out a old closet and doesnt know what they have and is just trying to make a little money.

yeah, it was during 87-89 when a JS just not marked. I only made a couple like that. Peter, I made some pieces that is so ugly I wish I knew where they are now so I could go back and apoligize to the owner.

I have a knife very much like that Jerry made for me in 88. I think the workmanship on mine is very good I just wish it had a guard.

Don, I have/had a folder that is on the north side of the bridge of the Miss river there at Vicksburg. Flung it over the side after leaving the blade show and not being able to sell if for $295 then to 200 then down to 100 on sunday finally thought it would be worth that to see how far I could chunk a folder.

Now that has a certain amount of flair. The best that I have managed to do so far is send a bunch to the local landfill:D

I also saw the Fisk and thought perhaps there was ANOTHER Fisk that made that knife.

I have seen numerous knives from a lot of well known makers listed by Xotique Antiques.

They are ALWAYS priced at high market prices from what i've seen.
