Is there any writing on the left side of the blade? Safety sheath and general shape of the knife does look like a Morseth, but do not know anything about "True" or the bird stamp. Does anyone know if Morseth sold kits? John

Wiki says after Steve Morseth sold the name and equipment to A.G Russell, that AG did sell mostly as kits. That could be what you have here. A Morseth blade (it looks like it is a laminated blade) sold as a kit and made by R.M True. John

Thanks John, Thats exactly what it is. How does that affect it value....not good I'm sure.

There was a period here in the Northwest when Morseth blades were being sold to makers and assembled under their own names. This was before A.G. took over. One of those non-Morseth marked knives showed up in an early copy of the American Blade photo and Steve personally told me at the Eugene show he had made it? I'm guessing Steve made that sheath rather than anyone in Arkansas.
