A recent offering touted this as a Buck knife. Yet the bolsters look different than any I have seen. I'm not an expert on all of the zillion variations and one offs of the 110 so though I would ask the pros. Thanks for whatever information you might provide.
I have written the offeror and asked about the authenticity of the knife and what, if anything appears on the blade. As yet no reply. I have tinkered with the pics he provided but they are not clear enough to determine what is on the blade.
Looks like a chinese made winchester that I have in my barbecue gear. THe sheath looks similar but mine is brown. Looks very much like a knock off of a 110. Cost $35 australian. Cheap! Cheap!
The pics screams 'knock off'. The flat bolster and 3 pins suggests that it should be older than a 2 dot. The blade shape looks wrong, unless it had been rebladed with a non buck blade or re ground. The unlocking lever is sticking far too high up in comparison to the 3 pin 110s I have came across. The bolster in the second pics should be the flashing red flag to 110 collectors. The angles just doesn't look right ! So unless this is a butchered and rebuilt 110....................
I am pretty certain it is one of those Pakistan made clones that were very prevalent in the 1980's, in my younger days of not knowing any better, I carried one in High School, the knife and sheath both are dead ringers for it.
well the picts are clear enught for me ...
give max of .25 cents for to have a lender to lend to some one i dont know...
KNOCK OFF at 99.99999 percent pure fake
of course that is jest my humbale thoughts...:grumpy:
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, the offeror says in response to my questions. The collective wisdom of this Forum, however, trumps anything he might say. Thank you all again.
