Is this a ripoff of an existing design?

I like this design but I've never heard of "Nedfoss" and before I give them my $29 I wanted to see if it was a ripoff of some knife maker's legitimate product.

I like a bit of mall ninja, just as much as the next guy, depending on who the "next guy" is. It's hard to trust these off-brand companies because so many of their designs are "inspired by" other companies, or even one-man shops who put the work in.

If you're looking for something a little less "inspired by", search up "pocket kukri". The smaller ones are right around 6", OAL.

Well, NEDFOSS is a trademark owned by SHENZHEN AIYUNDONG TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD

Their website opens to a BK2 clone made of pot metal - I would never touch anything from nedfoss with a stick

There are a few other "brands" like this, Wolfgangs, Odenwolf etc... That's all sweatshop-potmetal-bulls**t made to cash in on a similarity of good knives...

Somebody translate that to Chinese then back to English and then see if it starts to almost make something resembling sense.
Reminds me of a story, perhaps apocryphal, about early language translation software, 1960s. One test they used was to start with an idiomatic expression, translate to Chinese, then back to English.
“Out of sight, out of mind” came back as “The invisible is insane”.:
