Hey all- just wondering if I should get used to this...my boyfriend is OBSESSED with his Strider knives! His birthday was last week, and I got him a Strider folder with his badge number on it- you'd think I gave him gold! HAHA! He told me there were others out there with this same obsession- please let me know I'm not alone? I'm considering wearing knife oil as my new perfume! Thanks guys!

this is great, now that she is posting here, anyone want to explain to my girlfriend why i need multiple STRIDER knives as there are a multitude of tasks for them. I try to tell her that different models are for different uses, but she doesnt believe me. Help me out here guys, Joe E., Josh, anyone?

No, it's not a disease...I think...I am a fellow "knifewidow" and I must say that it was truly kind of you to actually BUY him a knife...however, you do realize, this makes you an enabler, right?? J/k boys and thier toys...I've just come to grips (triple-wrapped, sharkskin-lined, grips) that this is just a fun and (relatively) harmless way for guys to hang out and have a cool hobby. Don't worry too much. If you find any eau de knife oil, let me know. Better yet, make him buy YOU one for your own personal use - its amazing how many uses you'll find for it!!
PS - to all serious blade people - this is a HUMOROUS, NOT SERIOUS message from one "outsider" to your world to another. Please do not castigate my husband for allowing me to comment on this thread. MH

Thanx Strat- fellow guitar player? I do think it's great- I mean, there are worse things he could collect, right? And I was thinking about asking him for a small knife for myself...any recommendations on models? (I'm sure he'd want me to get a Strider- but do they make little all-purpose ones?)

Yes, I'm a "guitar man." Actually, that was my wife who responded to you, she got a kick out of the "knife oil perfume." As far as a knife for you, check out MFS (My First Strider). A great utlity design, and a nice compact size. Triple Aught Designs (www.tripleaughtdesign.com ) had them in stock last time I checked. Have fun!
