I beat the hell, out of my CQC7A and it keeps on tick'n.Like all good firemen I do some side work,I help a brother fireman roof. This last job was a tear off, that is all the old roofing and in this case the plywood is removed. This was because there was poor ventilation in the attic,so part of the job is adding the right ventiation.
I used a roto tool to cut 3x6 holes every 12 inches in the sofits, now I had to set the bit so it would not cut the vinal siding on under side of the sofit(the vinal already has vents).Well Once you make the cut the vinal won't let the piece drop so I had to pry it out, used my 7.Thats right I pried dozens of times with a folder.I also scribed all the spots first with the back side of the point, the liner held up fine thank you.I also used the end of the handle to pound the pieces out when the cut did not go all the way through.Other times I used the blade to cut where the bit did not make it through
Now the first half of the blade got dull but the knife held up fine.
Two hours of pounding, prying and cutting,10 minutes on the sharpmaker good as new.I got to tell you theres not to many folders I'd do this with.I got to say this knife keeps finding its way in my pocket more and more.

:D :D

No doubt.
I have a 99 CQC-7 that I carried as a secondary dive knife and it quickly became the knife I reached for when diving. I ABUSED this knife with scraping, prying and of course frequent salt water immersion. Despite this abuse the knife edge came back each time.
Also, this blade was bead blasted and despite this fact the Emerson ATS-34 was surprisingly resistant to corrosion even without the Marine Tuff Cloth coating. This is in stark contrast to an ATS-34 blade of mine crafted by another manufactuer.
Big ups to the Emerson production knives!:D
