Hello everybody,
I am new to this forum and, being a newcomer, I have only been reading posts without actually posting anything as I like to get to know more about the forums I visit.
Then, this morning I came across this rather curious information page about this forum. Is this "official"? Is there really a "Pirate Cove" somewhere (I looked, but could not find it) and how can I access it? How about some "'Phucktard" list? Is any of what this page claims really true?!
Thanks,
Eloso

The Facts Regarding BladeForums.com, the Lying Edge of Knife Discussion
www.bladeforums.info
There is a certain element that dwells in the private forums at BladeForums.com, specifically the 'Pirate's Cove' and 'Whine and Cheese' (W&C) forums (only accessible by paying members)...that apparently doesn't like their fellow forumites who hold views which may be different than their own. Specifically, in the 'Pirates Cove' forum the forumites refer to themselves as "pirates", and they maintain what is referred to as a "PT" list. The "PT" of "PT list" being wordplay on the term 'Phucktard', which apparently is their cute way of saying '****tard' without feeling that they've soiled their lips with profanity. These self styled 'pirates' will attempt to add anyone to this 'PT list' who dares to either 1) 'cross their path', i.e. rebuke them for their radical behavior on the forums, or 2) disagree with them on any subject matter whatsoever.
The PT list maintainers in the Pirate's Cove forum are in the habit of singling out those they deem deserving of being added to the list and getting rid of them. One method of ridding themselves of an "undesireable" forum member is by scuttling the reputation of the PT listee with negative reputation points handed out by the dwellers in that private forum. Many of these private forum members have huge amounts of positive reputation points themselves (...given to themselves by themselves, in what may be rightly referred to as a circle-jerk), so they are in effect immune from any negative reputation points given them in return by the individual they are targeting, while they are free to bombard that individual with negative reputation points in mass, putting that individual in "the red", and ruining that individual's reputation throughout the entire board. Since these negative reputation points show up board-wide, what is essentially occurring on a private forum is harming the reputation of anyone who crosses them elsewhere on the board, while the board "rules" prohibit private forum matters from spilling over onto the rest of the board, (except when it comes to the scuttling of a persons reputation with negative reputation points, presumably).
This type of behavior appears to be approved by the owner of the board, an individual by the name of Kevin Jon Schlossberg (who also apparently owns the website OneStopKnifeShop.com), as moderators of the BladeForums.com board are among some of the worst offenders, effectively becoming the enforcement arm of the BladeForum.com 'pirates' via their power to ban members for absolutely no cause other than their own trumped-up reasons.
In conclusion, it is a shame that a small cabal of radical forumites are allowed to run roughshod over the rest of the paying (and non-paying) members to the detriment of the rest of the knife community.
Not surprising actually, given the fine examples of similar behavior readily apparent elsewhere in today's society.
